Baseball and Softball Volunteers Needed!

Northboro baseball and softball needs your help! If you are interested in volunteering for the Association, we have needs in the following areas:

1. 2010 Picture Night Organizer - this volunteer is responsible for working with the photographer and league officials to finalize a schedule and be on-site to assist with logistics/organization of the night's activities. The 2010 picture night will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. If you are interested in taking on this position, please contact John Farrell at .

2. Clothing Sales Manager - this volunteer is responsible for keeping inventory of Northboro Baseball and Softball merchandise and coordinating volunteers for Event sales (Opening Day and Applefest). Starting in 2010, the Association will be looking to outsource clothing sales (and fulfillment) to an online vendor. The clothing sales manager will lead the effort to research potential vendors and make a final recommendation to the Board. 3. Softball evaluation assistance - spring softball evaluations for all players will be held from 5 pm to 9 pm on Saturday, March 20. Additional parent volunteers are needed for 2 hour or 4 hour slots. If you are interested in helping, please contact Loni Sotir at .

Spring 2010 Recreational Softball Registration Reminder!

Reminder that the Northborough Softball Association spring registration is going on NOW and will be open through January 31, 2010 to all girls ages 7 to 15 (1^st Grade – 9^th Grade). Registrations after January 31 are subject to a $25 late fee, so don't miss out! Registration information, including details about qualifying ages/grades for each level of play, can be found on-line at http://northborobaseballsoftball.org/ or at the Northborough Recreation Department at Town Hall.

Currently, Northborough Girls Softball fields teams in each of the following age groups:

Grades 1 and 2 (ages 7-8): Instructional League
Grades 3 and 4 (ages 9-10): Minor League
Grades 5 and 6 (ages 11-12): Major League
Grades 7 through 9 (ages 13-15): Senior League

Registration for Spring 2010 Baseball and Softball is Now Open!

The registration site for Spring 2010 baseball and softball (all ages) is now open!

Spring baseball registration opens in the fall to allow player evaluations for the spring to be conducted in September/October before winter arrives. You must register to take part in the evaluations (see details below). For more information on the baseball and softball age groups/divisions, please click here.

Details on the registration process:

1. Deadline for spring baseball registration is September 12, 2009. Registrations after that date will incur a late fee.

2. Deadline for spring softball registration is January 31, 2010. Registrations after that date will incur a late fee. Evaluations for spring softball will take place in March, 2010.

3. All baseball players ages 10, 11 and 12 as of April 30, 2010 who have not played in the Majors division will be scheduled for an evaluation on September 19 or October 3. Returning Majors players are exempt from the evaluation but must still register by the deadline to avoid a late fee.

4. All baseball players age 9 as of April 30, 2010 who wish to play in the AAA division will also be scheduled for an evaluation on September 19 or October 3.

5. League registration fees include a $50 calendar fund raising fee. Players keep the proceeds from the calendar sales to reimburse you for the upfront fee.
